Privacy Policy

UG Companion is run by Apollo Learning, a non-profit. It is not affiliated with the University of Ghana or any school. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address, a hashed password (or your Google account ID, name and photo if you sign in with Google).
• Your Sakai login: your student ID and PIN. The PIN is encrypted before it is stored.
• Your Sakai course data: the courses, assignments, quizzes, announcements and calendar entries you can already see on Sakai, and whether you submitted an assignment.
• Your WhatsApp number and the messages you exchange with the bot.
• Your settings: scheduled checks, notification times and quiet hours.

How we use it

Only to answer your questions and send you the reminders and alerts you chose. We read Sakai; we never post, submit or change anything on it. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Free-form questions may be processed by an AI model provider to write the answer. Nobody else receives your data.

How long we keep it

Chat history for 12 months, delivery records for 180 days, and your account until you delete it. Reply UNLINK on WhatsApp to stop messages to a number at any time.

Your choices

You can disconnect Sakai, remove numbers and pause checks from your account. To delete your account and data, contact us through apollolearning.org.
